Like many of us I have my father to thank for my love of fishing. I have been fishing since I can remember. Whether it was going out in his offshore boat looking for kings, fishing for flounder at the end of the street, or bass fishing in the middle of the winter at 5 a.m. with snow on the ground...we did it all.

As a Wilmington native, I have been fishing in the Cape Fear region for over 20 years. I also have fished extensively out of Pine Island Florida, Boca Grande, Islamorada, the Bahamas and the Everglades.

I can accommodate any angler. Whether you are experienced or have never seen coastal waters before, I will show you many of my techniques including, knot tying, scoping out fishing ledges, lure selection, and many other techniques that you will quite possibly find useful for the rest of your fishing days. My goal is to to have you leave a better angler than when you showed up!

Captain Matt Wirt holds North Carolina Citations in: Flounder, Spanish Mackerel, Pompano, King Mackerel, Speckled Trout, Black Sea Bass, Amberjack, Barracuda, and Sharks.

Derick Burgos has over 20 years experience fishing, was born in Hialeah, Fl. and spent all his summers in Puerto Rico as a kid where his addiction for fishing began. Soon after moving to Tampa Bay he was introduced to kayak fishing and has not stopped since. His passion for fishing lead him to guiding where he can share that passion with others. In addition to guiding, he is also a successful tournament angler.

His goal is to help you become a more confident angler whether it is with live bait or artificial lures, and at the same time enjoying Florida's most beautiful fisheries.

He went on to work in the local dive and fishing industry for several years.

Captain Daniel Snapp started Grassy Flats Charters to provide local and visiting anglers an opportunity to take advantage of the truly incredible fishing habitat on a custom charter that combines unparalleled professionalism with top of the line equipment all at a fantastic value.

Being born and raised in the sunshine state of Florida. I was always intrigued by the outdoors. Fishing or Hunting was a favorite pastime of mine. My father and grandfathers were either into racing cars or fishing & hunting, and needless to say mine was fishing.

From the time I was two and could hold a cane pole my grandmother had me on their dock fishing in their stocked pond, my grandfather said I hair lipped every fish in the pond at least once. Bread balls were the bait of choice for a two year old, I once ran out of bread and was determined to fish so I used a brown paper bag and yes this is a true story I caught a 1 lb. bass, my grandmother can testify.
