Welcome to Captain Joe Fishing, home of Fish-On Lures and Silly Willy Jigs. We offer a broad line of fishing tackle for both saltwater and freshwater use, and many of our lures work equally well in both water. This is the same tackle that we use on our charters that has proven so successful over the years. We invite you to look at what we have to offer and feel free to email or call if you have any questions.

Edje Hook - Blood Red w/stainless steel keeper. Pick up a pack of extra screw locks to pre-rig plastics for faster re-rigging when the bite is hot!

EDGE Hooks: Weighted EWG hooks are great for many styles of swimbaits, worms, soft jerkbaits, etc. We use the Mustad 91768BLN Ultra Point hook from 1/0 - 8/0. Available in: 1/16, 1/8, 3/16, 1/4, 5/16, 3/8 and 1/2 oz (depends on hook size). The small stainless steel keeper holds great on larger plastic lures and it is small enough not to tear up your finesse baits as well. Plus you can get them unpainted or in a variety of cured powder paint colors.

Silly Willy Pompano Jigs: Anglers along the Gulf Coast know our Silly Willy Jig is a great pompano jig, and that it accounts for large catches of redfish, trout, snook and even tarpon each year as well. Rigged with a loop knot and retrieved with slow twitches of the rod tip they always seem to catch something. Fished from a boat, on the beach, from a pier or bridge, the Silly Willy Jig will quickly become one of your 'go to' lures! Add a teaser fly for even more bites.

Pink & White Silly Willy Pompano Jig.

Assorted teaser colors available

Some anglers have found a new use for these effective jigs... catching crappie, walleye, smallmouth and other freshwater fish that like a vertically jigged lure! Try the 1/8 oz under a float for early season crappie (ice-out up north). Try shaking the  3/8 & 1/2 oz Silly Willy Jigs through a school of walleye or bass. Again, add a teaser fly for more bites!

Flipping Tubes: Heavy with salt, our 4.5" and 5" Tubes are perfect for flipping and pitching to stubborn largemouth. The 4.5" Tube is a good thick tube with a slightly longer profile so we could get more skirt action and still hold a 5/0 hook. The 5" Tube can be fished on a 5/0, but we recommend a 6/0 or 7/0 hook for better hookups.

Dragging Tubes: Heavy with salt, our 3.5" and 4.5" Dragging Tubes are just the ticket for finicky smallmouth. Designed to be fished with an exposed hook, they have an extra-long tail cut to allow for maximum action when dragging humps and shoals in open water.

HI-SEAS® Wildfire:  HI-SEAS® Introduces a New Superline: WILDFIRE™. WILDFIRE is a new thermally bonded braid. WILDFIRE™ is a superline that combines the most desirable properties of Spectra braid with the easy handling of monofilament. The smooth surface and unique construction allow you to cast WILDFIRE™ further than ordinary braid on both spinning and baitcasting tackle, and with whisper-quiet precision. Best of all, you can tie your favorite mono knots and handle the line with the ease of monofilament.

The line is compact, sensitive, and holds its shape cast after cast, fish after fish, without fraying. WILDFIRE™ is made by braiding Spectra fiber around a proprietary core material. The line is then passed through a thermal process which bonds the fibers around the core from the inside out. This special finishing gives WILDFIRE™ a more round and full body that resists wind knots and behaves like monofilament.

WILDFIRE™ has virtually no stretch and is more than twice as strong as monofilament of the same diameter, allowing you to feel every nibble and quickly set your hook. The line is colorfast. There are no dyes or outer coatings to come off on your hands, and the line will hold its original color even after repeated fishing. WILDFIRE™ is so revolutionary, it will literally change the way you think about braided line.

New Video

We have a new video from Captain Matt Wirt on how to rig the S.S. Minnow. This is a very good, very quick tutorial and it even shows the S.S. Minnow in the water.

Shop Hrs

We have added a "Shop Hours" section under the menu on the left side of the page. I will update that each week so you know when I will be there.

This week I will be in the shop from 10am - 6pm Sunday putting everything back from the show. If you don't mind the boxes, you might get some great deals on stuff I do not want to re-stock!

Fishing Reports

Check out our new Fishing Reports page. Reports will be posted throughout the week by Capt. Joe Hebert and our Pro-Staff. Keep up to date on the latest hot bite and information on how to get bit!
